The Grand Return of Formula 1 Racing to Las Vegas in November 2023
Get ready, because the world’s most significant street race is making a triumphant comeback to Las Vegas in November 2023! It’s been over four decades since Formula 1 last graced the streets of Sin City, and racing enthusiasts worldwide are eagerly awaiting F1 2023 Las Vegas.
Before the roar of engines fills the Las Vegas Strip, here’s what you need to know about this historic event.
The Basics: While this isn’t the inaugural F1 race in Las Vegas, it’s been a long time since the previous ones. In 1981 and 1982, races were held under the banner of the Caesars Palace Grand Prix, with the track weaving through the Caesars Palace parking lot.
Much has changed since those races. Today, F1 races are nearly twice as long, boasting extensive straightaways where drivers can reach mind-boggling speeds of up to 212 miles per hour.
More about this global phenomenon: Formula 1 is an internationally renowned auto racing series known for its high-speed, single-seat, open-wheel, and open-cockpit professional racing. The F1 track in Las Vegas covers 3.8 miles and features 17 challenging corners, three straights, and three DRS (Drag Reduction System) zones. The term “Formula” stems from the specific regulations that drivers must adhere to.
In 2023, Formula 1 will have a record 23 races on its calendar, including the eagerly awaited return of the Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix after a 40-year hiatus.
The Las Vegas race is one of three U.S. destinations on the F1 schedule, alongside Austin, Texas, and Miami, Florida.
Each F1 racing team is allowed a maximum of four drivers per season, but only two are permitted to compete at any given time. F1 permits up to 12 teams to participate, each with a maximum of two cars. However, championship regulations cap the number of cars at 26. Currently, there are 10 teams on the circuit, including Alfa Romeo, AlphaTauri, Alpine, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Haas F1 Team, McLaren, Mercedes, Red Bull Racing, and Williams.
Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix 2023: From November 16 to 18, 2023, the streets of Las Vegas will once again be transformed into a thrilling F1 circuit.
